Hi guys in from the philippines my father and i owned a 1963 or 64? 23 window bus. This our first van since i was 6 yrs old and with this bus I learned how to drive at the age of 12. For now he is under surgery (complete body repair ) because it was stuck at our garage for 7 years its time for my bus to shine on the road again. Hope to help me if I have any questions about my bus thanks more power kombi lovers

WtF?
Is it just me or is that a bit wierd?
The front view looks to be a bit buldgey, with a too-narrow 'V', wierd headlight buckets, and wtF is with that door? Frames, one-piece, handle, etc.
Low door hinges?
Bulkhead?
Cargo doors...
Fake Samba?
Perhaps I just haven't driven my bus in a long time.
Right, where's the Herb...
Could be a very unique ride I reckon.
Keep us posted.

I would have to agree, the nose looks a little funky.
And what's with the front doors!!!

Good gravy, that bus is weird. A few observations:
- The inside view of the skylights: no way that's original
- What the hell is going on with that B pillar??
- Are those cargo doors homemade? Galvanized sheet metal? And why is the window opening *square*?
- WTF is with that bulkhead?
I could go on and on... |

Is it just me, or did that bus formerly have a sliding door on the passenger side? Partially filled in with bondo? _________________ 60 Rock Grey Vert |

Ass-tastic!
That thing looks Columbian BD in nature, and looks like it needs all of the same work, but when this one is "done", it's still a late Deluxe (I think) and not a BD.
All of the grief and none of the gravy.

That bus reminds me of when FAA investigators rebuild a crashed jetliner over a square stock & mesh buck. |

Looks like a lot of work, but I have seen some crazy filipino metal work before. Hopefully it turns out nice. How old are you now? _________________ To his their own PBJ

That bus reminds me of one of those drawings in a contest where you have to look for hidden things, although, in this case, they are not so hidden.
The top of the "V" on the nose panel does not line up with the front door.
Where did that bulkhead come from and what is that little thing below the door handle? _________________ Don't worry; be happy. (Baba) |

First, welcome and good luck with your project! That looks like a lot of work.
That said, where is the cargo door rocker? There also appears to be the remnants of lips on the wheel wells. Fatchick hack maybe?
Actually, the more I look, the more I think it is not a VW. _________________

thanks for all the comments. i know that some of you will react on my kombi. anyway about our kombi when my father bought it, It was all original, then after four years, my father decided to have major body repair on the front doors and converted it with mechanical window. The door knob and the cabinet doors were also converted into sliding door, I kept all the original parts, and right now i'm restoring it to it's original state. This is the vin number of my kombi-48663, can you please state what year model is this? I don't know how to get it. thanks and wish me luck on my restoration, I hope some of you can help me with the parts. anyway, i'm just a 26 year old guy from the philippines. I'll post the developments of my kombi every now and then. |
