Does anyone know where to get the front seat pedestal rubber? I have a 78 and can only find the rubber up to 76. I thought that this would be the same but found out that it is a little short on the piece that wraps around the back of the swivel seat. I was told to cut a chunk off of the old stuff to make up the difference but would rather not do it that way. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Buy generic rubber and glue it on is what I was told. I looked for a while and couldn't find anybody who had or was planning to make it. |

I couldn't find a Westfalia specific kit so I also used the pedestal kit for a standard bus. You can cut off the piece that goes behind the drivers seat because it would otherwise be hidden in the cabinet anyway. You can then use this piece to cover the rest of the swivel seat pedestal. I used the 3M Spray Adhesive that you can get at Wal-Mart or auto parts stores and it worked very very well. Make absoultely certain to let the spray adhesive cure for 5-10 minutes or it will ruin the rubber pedestal covers. I installed these covers about 3-4 months ago and they look very good and you cannot see the seam on the swivel seat side. |
