Ah... Hell no, you won't get me into a Vintage Chevette. Odd cars, yeah. but an AMC pacer? Nope.
I really needs me a split window crew cab next. _________________ "Okay, so there's 6 beers and 5 of us. You know what this means don't you? 4 of you are going to have to leave."

Heh, I remember a friend and I bought one for the engine (304ci)right down the street. If I remember right, after we pulled the engine we beat the sh-- out of it with sledge hammers and then took it to the metal recycler.

I had a college roomie who had a Chevette Diesel. What an utterly dreadful auto - but it did run and it did get reasonable fuel economy.
My ride at the time was a '59 Willys Overland Wagon 4x4. So began my love of "odd rides" _________________ '85 Vanagon Westfalia |

One word. Yugo.
I once went to an art exhibit that was comprised of sculptures which incorporated Yugos.

I do as well.
Always wanted a Willys wagon, never found one without a lot of rust in the floor boards. _________________ 74 181 Thing

AMC was the shizzle. Like VW at the time, they marched to the beat of their own drum. They did innovative things with limited resources. Of course, they ultimately died, while VW sold out to conformity. Sometimes I wonder which fate is worse.

Oh I forgot this was the AMC shizzle and still is around here:
To bad we can't get the tubs these people get.
Speaking of which why don't you think anyone has made one to convert a Ghia or even a bug pan to Thing look alike?

| well evidently i have two nerd cars then. my first car was a 1980 chevette "the silver bullet". that car was awesome pretty indistructible. used to take it 4x4 on loggin roads and everything never had a problem with it. beside i did have to change the start one time and talk about a pain in my a$$. i loved that car and still do. in fact its still alive at my parnets house, may have to start drivin it again if the gas keeps goin up like it does. its pretty roomy too 4 door 4 speed manuel 4 cylinder rear wheel drive what more could u ask for.ahh the bullet might start tricklin a lil tear soon thinkin bout it. |
