My trike is running a SP 1600 with a mild cam and no, I do not know what cam it is. 009 dizzy with points which I do intend to replace with electronic ignition. Single solex carbie. Stock size tires and wheels (4 lugs). Weight is about 900 lbs or less including me. I think.
The trike is fairly strong as it is. But I would like to have more power. Hey, I've always liked power. If I were to change it over to DP would that do much? Dual carbs? If so, what type and size?
Ideally I would like a motor that is strong from line to the top in 4th. Don't want a motor liable to grenade on me tho. Would like good reliability, decent mileage and as bullet proof as possible. OK so I know it's most likely impossible to get all that in one package.
A local VDub dude was telling me I should put a 1775 in her and the numbers seem to be good. However I have trouble trusting someone who's beetle is falling apart and sounds like it runs on two cylinders.
