is it needed.. i know with t1 its pretty much a given, on anything over 5k rpms your chancing it.
the motor im planning to build , i dont expect to rev over 6k maybe 6500 if i go to the track ever.
ifso should i just send it out to someone who does t1 fans or is there a specific shop you would recomend? _________________ Brian

Most of the "rebuilt" ones you see are welded.
If you are stock, and the rubber is tight, leave it alone.
If you are going racing, yes, get it welded. But remember this, VW made that a harmonic balancer for a reason. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

It also turns at half the speed of the T1 fan -- so that lessens the need to weld it also...

I've hit 6500+rpm on my engine on more than a few occasions without a welded fan...and I know mine is still the original fan _________________ Toby http://www.aircoolednut.com/
