pop out brackets

I tried to install popouts today in my 63. I couldn't figure out how the bracket was supposed to mount with the small thin bar. I was able to put it all behind, but don't think that this was right. I had trouble getting the body to go between the bracket. Is that how it is supposed to go? Can someone give me some help with how to get these two brackets together? thanks-

Naw, you missed it. First you need to trim your healiner away from the body, it will fit in better. Second slide the popout into the body then put the metal strip in behind it all to fasten it all together. Good luck.

Thanks- I got the bracket bolted in on now. My 63 had the bracket holes pre-drilled, but now I cannot find the holes for the rear popout latch. Do I need to drill them? How do you know where do drill? I thought that they'd be there already since the front hinge holes were there..
