I am reinstalling the exhaust on my 87' Vanagon after replacing the head seals. And for some reason the exhaust will not mount up straight on the head. For instance if i slide the exhaust on the studs on one side, when i go to slide on the other side it wont fit. Its about a 1/4'' short.
Is there any good way to "force" the exhaust to fit without hurting anything else in the process.
I realise there must be some expanding and contracting because of temp....but dang.

And i tried a search but came up with nothing.

w.t.
