|

So I'm a new guy (here) with a new bus ('78 Campmobile) which has an old top in need of re-newing. I've read all the threads on this topic and have found that the two most common finishes seem to be Rustoleum paint (quick, cheap, and easy) and Interlux marine finishes (more work, more expensive, but potentially better in the long run).
I'm considering going the Interlux route and would like to have the end result to look as original as possible ... which brings me to colour. Obviously the original colour was white ... but which white?
Interlux apparently comes in at least seven shades of white (Snow White, Off White, Oyster White, Pearl White, Mediterranean White, Matterhorn White, and Arctic White)!!!
Does anyone know which shade most closely resembles the original "Volkswagen White"?
Thanks very much in advance. |

I just shot mine with some dupont centari. The hardest part was going into the paint shop asking for white, but I asked if they had any white premixed, that someone didn't want, and luckly they had one, and cut the price in half, and beat the other routes. The color turned out perfect for me a creamy white.
The formula code was 668190, and has mostly white with some black, yellow, and a dab of orange.
No camera, or I'd post a picture. |
