The bus still has lights when i turn it on and it doesn't die when i turnthem on either so i know the generator is good, plus i did check the voltage it was throwing off as well and teat checked out.

It was just a thought. So your generator light and oil light are on when you turn the key before you start it up? Could it be a bad condenser on the distributor? I know they can go bad, but can they be off and on flakey?
