Looks like my fuel pump is gone, diaphram I guess, looked into a new one wholly expensive, someone suggested just taking off manual and push rod and putting in a low volume electric pump, could someone please give me advice on this, sounds reasonable. |

Is your engine carb'd or fuel injected? |

if you go electric, you will need a pressure regulator. |

what's your time worth? bus depot has stock fuel pumps for $100. at CIP1, you can get a facet electric pump for $35, but you need a pressure regulator ($26), a pump block off plate ($5), a mounting bracket ($5), plus you need fittings and clamps ($15). total cost in parts to go electric: $86. So you save $14... but, replacing a stock pump is a pretty simple process, taking less than an hour. if installing an electric pump count on wasting the better part of an afternoon, breaking at least one drill bit, spilling gas all over the place after you cut the lines, and needing to buy at least one wrnech, because you can never find all the tools you need, when you need 'em... and then dialling in the system. To me, there is no real advantage. |

Thanks I'll go with a new stock pump, sounds like its not worth it for the electric and more hassle. |
