PostPosted: Fri Jun 06, 2008 10:14 am    Post subject: Oil pressure relief valve spring replacement? Reply with quote

Since I still have some temperature problems I decided to take out my oil pressure relief valve spring and measure if it's still in spec. It read 5,8 kg at 39mm, per Bentley it should be 6,8 - 8,8.

So there may be some room for improvement here. However, I can't find any website offering a replacement spring...

Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Or does anyone know a vendor who does sell them?

i think there is a type 1 spring that will work for what you are trying to do. it is a longer spring.

you want a stock type 1 spring, not a pressure boost one. i'll try to get you a part number.

thanks karl.

so it's the 111 115 421 A one. it is common mod to do on the type 4 engine if the oil pump is changed to a higher volume unit.

Do you happen to know what kind of force it takes to compress a type 1 spring down to 39mm?

Thanks for the help btw. Cool
