My 79 just passed smog yesterday with flying colors. I pulled into the shop and when the guys popped the hood, they all took a breath and said wow. My new motor looked impressive to them (I don't think they ever saw a VW that was clean) You should have seen their faces when I told them I did all the work myself. They looked me up and down and said, "No, you. No, you. No, what do you do for a living." It really blew their minds when they learned I am an estimator. They talked to me about my bus throughout the whole test. They were all civic people, way cool experience.

Just wanted to let everyone know.

Daly City, a local VW shop recommended them to me. Young owner stayed late to fit me in, just a great experience. He even gave me a 20.00 discount. Cost me $50.00 with the certificate.

Nice to see a local! (Well, at least local to me!) Great news on your bus. My 73 doesn't need to be smogged anymore, but I do miss the extra bed on the roof!

I get the same response. When I tell people I rebuilt my engine they always ask 'where?" I can tell they think I'm BSing them. I dont even look like the kind of person you'd trust pushing your shopping cart.

Ratwell, I FORBID you to post THAT picture again!!!
