I have one of the typical ebay chinese T3 turbos, brand new, and need to install a carbon seal to use on a drawthrough setup.

I see there's two different types of carbon seals, 1 piece, and 4 piece.

Anyone know which seal I need?

Also, can I get away with just buying the carbon seal and thrust collar, or will I need new o-rings since I am disassembling the turbo?

I would also look into getting good bearings while you're in there. crap bearings is one of the biggest problems with chinese turbos. I have one I plan on running but I will put good bearings in it before I do.

Thank you for the replies. I figured I would just do a complete rebuild on it, even though it is brand new, never run....

Look at Bocabearings, they sell nice ceramic bearings.

I have run a china made turbo XS brand for 2 years now. No issues or shaft play.
