Any one ever heard of an Empi Sportster? Check this EBay listing out: 320271298266. I've never heard of one. Thought it was ugly at first but the more that I looked the more I liked it.

I remember in a conversation with Joe Vittone, that he said on one of his trips to Europe he was asked by the VW factory in Wolfsburg to leave the Sportster he brought over as an advertisement piece for the museum, so he did....
You can find them in the early EMPI catalogs.
Seems to me that in a conversation with Bruce Meyers that Joe once tried to buy the Meyers Manxes from Bruce, Bruce told him no way, so Joe decided to make his own "Dune Buggy" and call it the Sportster....

| you can buy plans to make them as well as various stages of kit bodies, and completed cars. That's why you see alot of "lesser quality" Sportsters around since they're homemade |
