I had dual webers 34 s installed on my 74 1.8 bus {pancake} will not run at 28 to 30 degrees. runs fine at around 40 but thats not right. The mechanic threw up his hands and told me he had no clue what was up and I could find someone else to finish his job. Have any ideas. Mike

Nice.... I would suspect a vacume leak... thats why it won't Idle/run well at the correct timing, the combination Lean and advanced timing would make it run hotter that hell and will burn it up quick....
What kind of carbs did you have before???
Has anyone performed service lately I.E. check head torque/ adjust valves/ points good? ect....
