Just wondering if anyone has tried one of these
on the bay window rear axle nuts? We make these where I work (not proto, ours looks more substantial) and I can get a good deal on one. I just found out today for sure that we do make it in 46mm  . It looks impressive in person, and can be struck with a sledge, or slip a pipe over the end. Thoughts please?! Peace!

that's got to be a large and heavy tool for the rear nut.

It looks good.
I have one each of the 36 and 46 mm "whacker tool" that also has the square hole for a breaker bar. Very handy. Couldn't get along without them. Seems like they were $9 each.

We call 'em hammer wrenches at work. Proto has it listed as a "striking wrench". And if you think Proto is high, lol, I work for Snap-on  . I've put in a price request and should know something in a few days.
As for it's construcrion, the one I held the other day was about 10" long. Weighed 2 to 3 pounds. And was built a lot sturdier than the aforementioned whacker tool that can be used with a power handle.

In my neck of the woods we call them "knocker wrenches". We use them a lot around power stations.

A few years back I took a 4 hour drive and pulled into Maple Grove Speedway for the NHRA event, paid my parking fee, pushed in the clutch 1st gear, clutch out, car not go! splines stripped on rear drum of my 67 Bug. I went into the pits and found the one and only tool dealer and had to spend $135.00 (no joke) for a socket and breaker bar just to replace the drum!!!! By the time I scored th etool, the drum and fixed the car I saw NO RACES! Buy a tool BEFORE you NEED it, and remember to really tighten that nut.  Dj |
