Moderator notes/edits:
The purpose of this photo gallery thread is for members to submit QUALITY photos that inspire Vanagon owners to get out into the wilderness, take MORE inspiring photos, and POST them.
Here are great examples (i.e. Vanagons outside the urban jungle):
Poor examples (i.e. Vanagons not in the wilderness):
All side conversations (please use the PM system) and photos not illustrating Vanagons in the Wilderness will be removed.
Keep the awesome photos coming!
*****************Original Post:
I'm trying to keep my folks motivated to finish their Vanagon Westy Project so they can take it out west. I saw that the Bay Forum has a Busses and Wilderness Thread. I almost forwarded the link to my folks when I thought it would be better to send a Vanagons in the Wilderness thread. But you don't (yet).
So this is a plea. Please post all photos of your Vanagons out in the wilderness and/or camping.
Thanks,
Westy Steve (who spends a good amount of time working on the Vanagon) |

Okay, I'll start: not exactly "Wilderness", but a nice campsite along Gales Creek. And a slightly wild animal.

It was perfectly dry when we went to bed and woke up to this.
That was taken up at Rocky Mountain National Park this past spring.
This was taken on a dirt road going to some wilderness up around Wyoming/Colorado border.
Camping in the Comanche Peak Wilderness Area a couple of weekends ago.
Hope to have more to contribute after this weekend. |

Good on ya for getting out of the toasty bed and getting that shot fngruvn.
Not really wilderness, but best I can do for right now. San Jacinto Mountains in the background, near Palm Springs. In the interest of full disclosure, we were actually staying at a posh hotel set up by my sister in law. It was fun to pull up to the valet with the van (they got a kick out of it), having them park it with all the MBs and Bentleys was a trip. I told them to be careful not to ding the van. I only wish I had taken a photo of it parked in and amongst them.

Shaun and I made an epic trek to Switzerland for the 60 year anniversary of VW's being sold there. This was our high roof westy on an air field in Interlaaken. Talk about postcard settings!
Our campsite, right on the lake!
This is a shot taken from the Eiffel tower in Paris... can you see the westy?
I left a sticker on the stairs of the "Tour Eiffel"!

Gallaher Head lake, Central Cascades, WA. 2 hours up Fortune Creek 4wd road. Needed rear locker and every bit of 15" wheels to get here with lots of scraping. I could have used a 1 inch lift...... But we had the lake to ourselves! I'd like to go back sometime (after 1" lift...).

Great thread, i just posted a week ago but I'll throw a pic up again. I like to see Westy's in their element. Man, I need to find some of these non-campground camping spots. Anybody have any good spots in Eastern PA?
