I need the following parts for my '66, but I haven't been able to find them yet. The guy at the vw shop where I have been buying parts said that he has no idea where I would be able to find these items...

1. Vent Hose? I guess that is what it is anyway...

2. Rubber grommet for where the hose passes through the engine tin.

3. Rubber grommet for where the air hose attaches to the heaterboxes...

4. 6V Electromagnetic choke element.

Thanks for the help...

Wolfsburg West has all four of those.

1 and 2: That's called 25mm (or 26mm) pre-heat hose. Do you have the fitting it attaches to, underneath the tin, by the way?
Or is it just "floating" there not attached to anything?

Hose:

Other companies have them too, I'd get the 3-ply style like you have now, not the solid aluminum style
that it appears that CIP1 sells:

Rubber Grommet:

WW even sells the spring clip for up top:

3. Air hose grommet:

4. 6V Choke Element. Now, what you have is a PICT-1 style top half of your carburetor.

Wolfsburg West does NOT have that style of choke in 6V. They only have the early, smaller choke
in 6V,and that one won't fit your carb. You can try the Classified ads here on theSamba,
(they come and go on there, I'm sure there are plenty of good used ones around,
I probably have one somewhere or other myself) For new, CIP1 does have them, but I don't know
if the quality is any good, they have the KAFER brand name on them, which I think is made in China.

Those sure are some tiny little numbers you used to label your picture! Wink
I almost didn't even see the numbers!
(I always use nice large friendly road-sign typefaces myself)

Hope that helps some

Thanks for the help guys, especially to Andy for providing the links to the parts and saving me from having to try to find them on the web sites. There was no fitting on the bottom of the pre heat hose, have you got a picture of it or can you describe it to me and tell me what it does exactly?

EDIT* Never mind about the pre heat hose...I searched for it and I know where it hooks up now...

Digging up an old thread.

Where the pre-heat hose hooks up in this pic, I just have a hole in the cylinder tin, what is that piece that the hose hooks up to? Is it available?

Thanks!

Ah... preheat elbow, or preheat pipe I guess. Only fits like mid 1963-1967 models there on the left side.
