Everybody has got a different taste....I know.
But this? In combination with a watercooled ecotec engine?
Judging by his work he's got some skills, then why build this?

he definitely wins uniqueness points, although i dont like the iron cross logo and the mirrors.
i think i am going to reserve judgement on the bus until i see it all completed. looks like it will haul though!
at least it isnt painted some garish color.
at least it isnt a baysplit.
at least it looks to be a pretty clean install.
all in all, even though i wouldnt do it, it could be a hell of a lot worse. |

Definately not for everybody, I've said that in most posts I've made on here about my panel. Never intended to appeal to anyone but me. Most of you guys are vintage and I expected a very cold reception, never tried to push it over here. Much respect to all who said it was not for them but recognized my effort, that's all anybody could ask.
SHSC, I hope not, things would be veeery uncomfortable at home if it went up for sale anytime soon (you know something I don't?). Those plates came with the bus, thought they would look good for the pics.
I know the iron cross is completely played out (f'n soccer moms and wannabe tough guys). I do get some satisfaction in telling people that the symbol has nothing to do with choppers or nazis (then usually finding out how stupid they really are) . I am working on a design of my own, never liked the bare nose look and wanted something a little different... simple, clean. _________________ -----------------------------

what about a tilted over-lapping, slightly off-centered "PF" in the VW ring? _________________ Even YOU can prevent FIRES!

I'd never ever do something like this to any aircooled VW.
Again, I admire the skills but just don't understand why?
The airducts in the side? The louvered rear hatch for cooling the radiator?
The fact that it doesn't have a bumper or bumper holes?
I like custom and/or lowered VW's but I like them when they're done in a original color (he got that right), with a look like it could have been done when the car was new.........
Really no offence to "Panelfantastic" what so ever.
I wish I had the skills he has but I just wouldn't apply them in this manner. _________________ www.volksfahrer.nl

I just want to understand if PF will put in a rear hatch or if that bus will be forever backless just for the fans.

Hatch is being finished (hopefully this week).
Ecotec because of several completely different reasons, real horsepower (170 stock), real heat (and a/c if I want), modern fuel injection, very little maintanance, tons more performance if I want, cheap, very cheap, and to be different. _________________ -----------------------------

IMHO, great execution of your idea for YOUR bus!
Glad to hear that you intend to keep it and enjoy it. What most people don't understand is anyone making such a custom vehicle to turn around and try to sell it. However, just like "stupid" threads, "political" threads, "fatchick super" threads , etc., if people don't like YOUR bus they don't have to go see it!
From the looks of it the ride must be some kind of awesome! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |
