Greetings one and all.
Need the groups help please.
Just bought a bug pac quick shift kit, there are no install directions with it.
there is a diamond shape plate and a bushing and two longer screws.
If I take off the shifter (remove two bolts) and lift out. Do I remove the stop plate and replace with diamond shaped plate or does it go on top of stop plate.
next do I remove the bushing on the shift leaver and replace with the new plastic one?
The new shift plate has a wider side and a taller side. which side goes down?

I was just looking back through the unanswered posts and spotted this one. My answer might be a bit late but here are pics of the quickshift kit as installed onto my 66 floorpan.

That really sucks! Any leads from the police? Check around all the body shops and their fenced yards, you might get lucky.

No news on the car. Nothing from P.D., Nothing from anyone. None of the shops, Craigs list nada.
Will get forms for theft from Insurance company and file claim for the car.
Just feel like someone ripped out my insides.
Sure it"s just a car but the feeling of it gone makes me sick.

yes getting ripped off sucks so bad!!!! last year i came home from work to have found my home got robbed!!!!! they took a bunch of stuff to include EVER SINGLE Christmas present under the tree!!!!! how f-ed up is that?? And i live in a real nice golf course community... WTF!!!!! well now the house has an alarm and nothing even close has happened again.... the burgalars are just lucky that this military man didn't catch them in the act!!!!
hope your car turns up though, i know how you feel!!!!

We know how you feel, it's more than just a car. If my Vibe got stolen, I'd take the check and move on, but the bug is a different story. For one thing, they aren't a dime a dozen anymore. I also think once you put enough blood, sweat, and tears into something it becomes more than just a sum of its parts. Non car people will never understand that, but most of us do...
Hopefully things will work out for the best for you...

| What plastic bushing? You mean the top spacer? (which is plastic) Or the shift rod bushing... which cannot be seen in that photo, as it is inside the tunnel. |
