|
|
Im looking into buying a new engine and trans for my 67 notch. I want something with a lot of power but still be able to drive on the street and not worry. I would like a turbo but I dont want to cut up my notch. Would a turbo fit without cutting anything? And i dont want to convert it to type 1.
Or would it be better to just get a regular stroker motor with no turbo? Any help would be great. I would like to run 13's with it. Am i asking to much for a heavy type 3 street car?? |

They make a Type 4 turbo engine. But a type 4 rebuild can be some serious cash.
You could be creative with it... maybe.
Or you could look into a EJ20 swap. You'll spend 1/4 of the cash, have more HP, and your motor will go 200k miles further than a T4.
Now I'll go hide behind 73notch.... _________________ 71 Squareback

I agree. After driving my car for about a month, I realized a mild n/a engine will suit the car better. So trashed my turbo plans; this car is all about simplicity. If you ever get it running right you'll just blow axles and transmissions! A 2000cc torquee stroker motor is all I want! |

SCAT makes a 2007-2017? kit that should be a strong motor that you don't have to bore that big and should last longer? |

That's Paul Knupps old car! That is a fun car with lots of unique stuff. notice the rear fenders are NOT notchback, but modified squareback. the full chassis car was a modified bug style and if i would have had the $ it would have been mine. The builder/former owner has a shop about 3 miles from my house. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

Key want there.
My 2110 has lots of power and torque and I drive it regularly with no issues. She pulls hard from 2500 thru 6500 rpm, then the power band drops due to my cam specs. I don't race it, but I can do 75 on the freeway all day long and I still have a lot of pedal left. I've had it over 85...allegedly. _________________ One man's "patina" is another man's cancer...
