What colour ivory to paint interior parts

I know this is a question that's been asked a hundred times, and I've searched the forum extensively but have not come up with any definative answers.

The 55 needs all the Ivory parts repainting/renewing and after searching the forum I see posts relating to the correct colour being L87 Pearl White, L75 Beige, L62 Ivory and L471 Stone Beige...so which is correct??? Confused

At the end of the day I'm looking to colour match the switchgear, handles buffers, steering wheel, seat frames, hand brake lever etc. I know depending on lighting conditions things can look different but on some of the photos of restored cars I look at these items can look almost creamy, whereas on others they look positively white! (Koch restored steering wheels a good example).

Looking to get something as close as possible to the colour of this accessory indicator arm and knobs/buffers from Gary at Brezelwerks, which both look more of the white "Ivory" colour:

For a 1955 Beetle (Jan-July 1955) Ivory is correct. If you're looking for a great color match from an aerosol paint can, I recommend the Almond by Plast-Kote.

Pearl White was never used on interior ancelleries

Stone Beige was used on 1960-later cars

I doubt that t/s switch was intended for VW use. The shape doesn't fit the steering column very well

Tks for the answer RA. Thing is I was looking for a definative answer so that my sprayer can paint those items in 2-pack.

Gotta be more of you boys out there (especially from the GFK) who have been through this process already...??? What ya do? Confused

You're right, it doesn't look right does it!

I saw another advertised recently by Mr Ham and it looked the same? Confused

Will hook it out and see if I can find a pt.no. If it's wrong, anyone got a proper one? Wink

I can believe that...but, really? Shocked

With so many cool cars having been restored over the last few years I gotta say chaps I find it difficult to believe people go with "what looks right" Exclamation

every time.

Surely gotta be a concencious of opinion on what colour is right for these items. And by these items I mean > wheel, coloumn, handbrake lever, gearstick, seat bases.

Did you paint your handbrake and seat bases the same colour as the coloumn and wheel then?

I used Rust-Oleum Appliance Epoxy (almond) on my 56 Ragtop. It came out decent looking. I also painted my seat frames with it. If your going to get your steering wheel restored send them all the stuff that needs to be painted, so they can paint them when they do the wheel and everything matches just a thought.

But come on guys, no-one got any data on what is used for Ivory? Must be hundereds that are on this forum that have gone through this process and I still can't believe people just match up to what they got... Rolling Eyes

i got all there was to paint on my 1958 ragtop with a spray can fond at a local store. the tag had ivory written on it and i bought it. see the result... not 100% correct, but good match to the og Petri wheel in my opinion.
