Look in the classifieds:ZF, Quaiffe, and Pelligrin are all more than capable units for your application.

Bingo, even when I ran a stock transaxle in my car I had a Berg PMP and I could always get both wheels spinnning in the burnout box.

You have to shim it tight to make it work, actually pretty easy to install with the transaxle out. Worked so well I put one in my $$$ close-ratio trans even with the Super Diff.

Big Bad Ben, please tell us how you're getting 138hp out of a 1776cc? Got Boost?

It will push in turns and chrip the wheels when going around tight corners.

Glenn, I think the trick is to rev the engine and pop the clutch to get the tires spinning. This way they don't bind up. Wink Laughing

My guess would be the same way Jake got 186hp from a 1500- determination!

i wonder of the many people that posted, who has actually done it, and who does it every day?

I have and do in two separate cars.

It all really boils down to the rear tires how it will act. It actually works better with a soft sidewall bias ply tire really well. You will only notice the spool at very low speed turns, it will pull the engine down as the rear tire binds, very easy to overcome by giving it more throttle. Any other time it isnt noticeable (other than the dual black marks on the street) Twisted Evil

With say a 165 tire it breaks it loose very easy and gives the "chirp" noise. Slow turns are much easier.

with a wider low profile tire, it makes the car "surge" going around corners, as it cant break the tire loose easily, but the sidewall is too stiff to absorb the tracking difference.

Either way, you need one for drag racing, and quaife units are just too expensive.

It works fine, but for a car never drag-raced, probably just stupid to have.

These 235 M&H's on my car work great with the spool, but wont hold up to alot of mileage.

THIS IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART, KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND YOU WILL BE FINE.

When my buddy is pushing his drag car in the staging lanes, instead of reaching way in to pull up the e-brake, he just turns the steering wheel. It is very effective.
