I'd like to run some wider tires on the back of my '72 beetle. I'd like to run like a 215-70-15. What width of wheel would I need for this? Will my stock steelies handle a tire this wide? Is a wider version of the 4 lug steelie available?

Thanks for the info...

I have 215/70 Wranglers on stock wheels jammed in under the rear of my Ghia. They're just fine.

Maybe grab up a set of rusty chromed 5.5 wheels for cheap if you wanna go a little bigger.

Easy Peasy!

I have 7" widened stock rims on the back of my bug with 235/75 tires, so widening is always an option. I have seen some big stuff stuffed on the stock rims though with no problem.
