I bought an NOS 36 hp Judson kit. Everything is there accordding to the instructions except there is nowhere that tells me what " the looks to be generator pully" cover and a big spring go . Can anybody tell me what and where these 2 pieces go.
Also being it was NOS in the box with all the lit, original belts and decal (though aged) and I want to use it I would be interested in trading the NOS kit for a rebuilt jusdson and all associated parts plus some cash for the NOS kit.
The only part that appears to have been installed but not run is the crank pully.
The parts in question are the generator pully? cover and the big spring in the second photo

The Generator half pulley replaces the stock pulley front and the spring is of a stronger tension and goes in the fuel pump to replace the stock spring. You'll find it all in the Installation Instructions. |
Thank you. I must be missing part of the instructions as nothing I have refers to either of these items _________________ Stocking distributor of "The Funky Green Panels"

I take it the spring is just for a 36hp setup .. I have a 40hp judson kit with no spring. _________________ Just Cruzin Sur Califas VW Car Club est♤1998 |

That is correct, only the 36 horse setup came with a stiffer spring for the fuel pump. The fuel pumps were completely different between the 36 and 40 horse, and I guess the 40 horse didn't need it.... _________________ 2003 Samba Chummie Winner- Best Story
