I have a early 57 sedan and I am trying to figure out how to cut the rain gutters on a 57 convertable deck lid to fit the Okrasa Knecht air filters. Has anyone done this? Do you have photos? Any help would be appreicated.
Thanks...Jeff |

You should maybe try the elbows from a ghia? |
Didn't you say it took you forever to find those? _________________ Cheers,

I'll trade you a repro vert decklid to cut up in exchange for an original uncut one ... _________________ There is an idea of a Billmetric; some kind of abstraction. Didn't you say that they were now making repros of the elbows. |

the vert lid should work on a okrasa motor w/ rain gauds. i saw one at kochs with the gaurds and the daul carbs. it was mac jones 55 vert. it wont work on a judson set up . however ksr offers vet lids without the rain gaurds for this purpose |

jeff, I don't know the details of your Knecht air cleaner, but is the opening for the carb centered or offset in the A/C base? If offset, then you could rotate the A/C enough so that it might clear the rainguard? Do Porsche 356 with the least powerful engine (single-thraot dual carb) use such an offset-base A/C which you could try to obtain (see 356registry.org for parts sources)? |

In my engine, also pre-49 mushroom airfilters are used. The previous owner installed these because he never found the Okrasa- only Ghia elbows.

Are these Knecht filters ? Nice !
I've got some Mann industrial filters for my '60 bug which will get a Riechert set in the future, not near as special as your engine but looks like each other quite a bit. |

Hi Willem-Aart,
I have no idea what kind of filters these are. I have not seen my car yet. It arrived last week in rotterdam and today it was at the customs authority. I hope to be able to pick him up next week.
It will be shown first to the public at the keverwinterfestijn.
