Sink Faucet/Pump Replacements

I did exactly as Izzydog and installed the sureflo faucet (the orig Westy faucet was crap and it finally broke). This is the way to go. You will get more water volume out of the Sureflo than the orig faucet even with the orig Westy pump. The knob to turn on the water moves easily so you don't waste water, and the knob controls the water flow (variable). This is probably the best mod I've made to my Westy this year. Highly recommended.

I went ahead and installed a Shurflo faucet and foot switch, very nice upgrade.

I'm just wondering if anybody tried to also connect the city water line using a T fitting and a check valve. problem I see is the size of the city water hose is different and you would also need to use city water hose from the T fitting to the Shurflo faucet single inlet.

I went for the Euro westy style faucet. It pulls out and can be used as a shower as well. I pull it out and lay it on the dish towel in the sink with the top down. It adjusts from stream to shower by twisting the end.

to mount the Shurflo faucet I bought an antenna base like the one in the link below and modified it the following way: cut out the stickup, drill a bigger hole in the middle for the faucet, and install it upside down

It's almost a perfect fit, same number of screw holes and amost same distance between screw holes. I even used the same black screws and gasket that came with the original faucet

I bought the Eurostyle Faucet in Luxembourg via the internet.

I do think the Shureflow is defiantly cool, but is it just me, or when it is in the down position does it look like.....

These look great, the misssus hates the slow poke std. set up in the '81. I have an inline pump, can the Shurflo be easily hooked up with this set-up? Is a new pump added to this faucet worth it? Thanks.

Here is my little enhancement to the Shurflo Faucet upgrade. An optional foot switch. I wanted the option of either the faucet switch or a foot switch, which could be put away when not in use. Using a single pole switch I created a circuit that would allow one or the other to work. When the switch is closed, the faucet switch controls the flow, open the circuit, plug in the foot switch and the foot switch controls the flow. Although for the foot switch to work, you need to leave the faucet in an "on" position. I similarly used door stops from Home Cheapo as the base for the narrow necked Shurflo. Using my dremel, I cut the door stop into a smaller diameter circle. I got really lucky as my OE gasket was still usable. Using the gasket as a template I made the new base. Additionally, the gasket had the screw holes in it, making the placement of screw holes very easy. In the cabinet below, I put the switch in the wall behind the driver. I also mounted the coupler for the foot switch. This allows me to store the foot switch when not in use, etc.

The switch was bought at ProBass Shops, Shurflo at West Marine ($39), and single pole switch / coupler at Radio Shack $3 each.

The knob on top our faucet is busted, so did a search here and learned a great deal with the discussions about pros/cons/fit.

I haven't yet ordered from Go Westy (I think they are expensive) but noted that they have this replacement faucet:

Yes you will lose the city hook-up. In my opinion, the better faucet far out weights the amount of times I used city hook-up, which was ZERO.
