I recently found this NOS postcard for a company called Lion Products in Denver, CO. I've never seen this type of air cleaner assembly before and thought others might like seeing it.

Neat, it looks super shiny.

So a special air cleaner and 2 large bore pipes give you a 33% faster acceleration speed?

What are the "2 special belts"?

You attach them to the TBird infront of you. $40 was expensive for a tin can, two pipes and two belts. Confused

So the kit is a different belt to decrease fan speed [the old Porsche belt trick] and gain hp, a better less restrictive air filter and two hollowed out tailpipes which will give much less back pressure....about the same as an abarth.....maybe about a 3hp upgrade.... with a larger main jet.............so maybe a 7 to 10 percent hp gain. All this is spelled out in the book "Souping the Volkswagen" which is where he got the idea back in 59. His 0 to 60 times are certainly BS......but I wouldnt kick that air cleaner to the curb..........Its cool. You would definitely feel improvement if you installed the "kit". I dont know what the 2 belts would be for unless he gives you a choice. Ill take 2...........at the 1959 price
