Hi Guys,
i think i now have to say some things
1. Everybody that signed in and has paid will of course come on the show ground.
2. We are a vintage show and that is what we want to stay .
3. We have found a way that will make everybody happy - the just stock guys, the lowered guys and the rats that will come.
We know of people that signed in with a different car and will come with a rat - let those guys come - they will have a special aera that will fit to their cars Smile
So guys enjoy yourselfs and do not forget - there is just 7 months left
Christian

Well that is a good thing.

I was already afraid, I had to go with my 1963 karmann-ghia coupe in stead of my Okrasa powered lowlight vert.

It is good to set rules, but than also stick to those rules in the registration. Why are there post 1967 cars registered?? Why are there Porsches registered??

I have never been to Hessisch and I always thought vintage was for the oldest cars. Personally I don't think any post 59 karmann-ghia's belongs to an event like this. And if you can have over 100 split beetles, why allow all the 143 ovals and not only the oval verts for instance. Same for busses, allow the barndoors in stead of all the 120!! T1 busses.

If you stick to only the oldest type of any model (bug, ghia, bus) more people with those types of cars in all different variation (stock, vintage speed, ratlook) can register and I think the meeting will be more interesting.

But that is just another opinion in this whole discussion about what cars should be allowed to a vintage meeting like BC and Hessisch. Wink

Its funny to read al the discussions about the HO meeting. And the minds about thinks like "why should this car come - and not that car". Simply to say: We made the rules and everybody had time enough to sign in. Yeah, there are some later cars because they belongs to members or friends of the TEAM because the event is organized by Volkswagen guys for Volkswagen guys. And if you compare a 1950 Porsche to a maching Split you will see that it is so close to a Volkswagen that you could identify it as an coachbuild Volkswagen. And I also think that a pre-A Porsche or an original 904 GTS is more intersting for all participants or visitors than the 180th maching numbered Oval beetle. And it is the same with non-stocked or Patina-cars. It is always a question of the number of these cars on a show. I remember a funny sitation in 2005 when a local girl walks with her husband in front of the Splitty bus line up. When she stop next to Tony Larrsens totaly stocked 1950 Panelvan she said "Look Darling, high made a Bus looks also very cool..." During the past 12 years we spend a lot of time and money to organize an event like we would like if we are just a participant. The oroblem is, that the beautyful places in the old town of Hessisch Oldendorf and in the cityhall is limited. And there is one point of numbers of participants where it is unable to handle a big event in our free time. All of us have to do a regular job and during the past years we could say that the Aftershoe is always before the show. And I think we find our way. Everybody is allowed to organize his show on his own way. And maybe a better show than all the others .

My two cents would be I'm coming to see a vintage show. I expect to see rare early cars, splits, barndoors and a few early Porsche's and loads of parts.

If the rules are "vintage, stock" cars then that is what should be "in" the show.

All shows have great cars in the parking lot and I expect to see everything that isn't registered there.

Anyone going from Canada? Be nice to hook up with some fellow Canadians.

A big bunch of Norwegian are heading for H-O next summer. About 3 or 4 cars ar not at all ready yet. We are driving all from 51 Porsche to one of the lowelight Gihas mentioned in the first page.

My sept. 52 will be ready until then. I hope. You can read about it on my blog, wich is a part of the Sechs volt-blog/outlaVWs
