This was the score of the century.I've been waiting for this one for over a year now and finally got it for next to nothing I have always wanted a car with some history and patina and now I have it. All OG, Grandma driven, 2nd Owner L41 w/ red interior.
The previous owner of the car, Anne, drove a 55' oval from brand new. She drove it to the 100k mark and traded it in at Speedway Motors in B.C. for a new beetle in January 66'.
She then drove it until becoming ill in 1997 in which she totaled only 62k miles. In 99' she passed and her son, John went and bought a $162.00 towbar and towed it home to Medicine Hat, Ab and parked it in his driveway. It has sat there till I found it like this.....
With his help got it towed to my shop.
That'll Buff Out
Perfect interior
Clean Wiring
Repainted the wheels
1300cc of powa!
All she needs for an inspection is some rubber brake lines and it needs some new hoses but that is it. Should be out on the road again in a week or so. Comments are welcome. |

Very, very nice car. Not too many "original" old Beetle finds out there... great score. I'd have a LOT of trouble modifying that one... and I love modified VW's. _________________ '59 Beetle.

Yes the car is staying all original/unrestored. I would never touch this . I have been waiting for something with all og paint and all the panels matched. lol
I paid a few thousand $canadian for the car which is a hell of a deal. The money wasn't the thing that sealed the deal. I promised the PO that if I was offered any amount that he would buy it back for that. I told him fat chance I'll sell it He wanted the car to go to a good home and he knew I was hardcore and would take care of it.
Anyways, thanks for the comments. I cannot wait to get it on the road |

Fantastic deal. Don't be too hastey getting it on the road. I would consider the condition of the fuel tank and the strainer inside of it and the main fuel tunnel line first off. Also the fuel pump and its internals as well as the 30-1 carb. You don't say whether or not it sat still for all of those years in the dude's driveway. I would replace the tires if they're any older than about 6 years. It is a beautiful little '66. I would granny it just like Granny did. Your pics are great. The unmolested dash wiring will help lots of those that keep banging their heads trying to figure it out. _________________ '66 Beetle

Very nice. Cars like that don't come around very often. Especially in Canada. |
