I'm picking up some VW's next Monday and one is a fiberglass buggy pickup with a square nose on the frt. I don't have pictures of it, but has anyone ever seen one? I'm planning on selling it but I want to know what its worth. Help me out please!!! |

I've seen a couple. When someone says 'pickup' buggy I automatically think 'Glitter-Bug', but the Glitter Bug didn't have a square front end that I know of.
Without a picture, identification is gonna be difficult. Heck, I've yet to find another buggy identical to mine.
Value? Anywhere from $100-$5000 I'd guess, depending on condition. _________________ OG JHC

Soon as I pick it up I'll get some pictures of it. Your wheels on your 67 used to be mine. I sold them to the kid you bought the car from here in Texas. Real nice bug. Thanks for helping out of the buggy. |

The ERCO's? Small world. I'll keep my eye out for the buggy pictures. Have you checked these sites?

The link above has debilitating popups. And, the dunebuggy archives (top link) doesn't seem to be updated like it used to be. Bart Shoemaker of the archives still posts over on www.dune-buggy.com though, so when you get your pictures, post them over there as well. Bart is the authority on dune buggy identification. _________________ OG JHC

Yeah, sounds like a Pody pickup. Kinda silly looking. Wonder if we'll ever see some more "modern" dune buggy bodies. I'd love to have one of those pseudo neubeetle buggy things running around in Mexico on type one chassis'. _________________ 71 LWB Manx style dunebuggy

I believe Kustoms and Hiedelberg John might have nailed that one. It looks like a 'Joe Poty' pickup to me too. Late 60's early 70's according to info I could find.

Thanks for all the help. How much is this body worth now days? After looking at the body today it doesn't look like its ever been mounted. Its just cracked on the fenders for over the years moving it around. Again thanks for all the help. I'm getting ready to start building the other manx body that I got with the pickup body. I'm going to builded another drag car. Like I don't have one already that I need to finsh. LOL! I do know that this one is build in Kermit, Tx. I found the tag on the frt firewall. Its a nice body other than some dumb ass cut the rear firewall out to take the fan shroud off because the motor was frozen in the tranny. Please don't ask me why I just bought it an took it to my shop. LOL!! I'm going to build a tube chassis off the stock chassis for this one. It will be a screamer. Super Lite weight and big motor!! |

Its a clone. I found the metal tag on the front firewall. I can't remember the company's name but it was built in Kermit, Texas. Its a real nice body other than the dumb ass cut the rear firewall out. Oh well I guess that life!! LOL!! Later |
