One of the last nice days of the summer/fall in Northern Michigan. it was in the 80's on our little color tour with the kids. They can only handle 2-3 hours and this is where we stopped to eat.

Off Hwy 108 above Sonora. Not too far from Eagle Rock. Off frame to the right would be the Dardenelles in the distance. The turnoff is like 30 min above Strawberry and then about 1/2 an hour on the dirt. The views from that spot are spectacular in every direction!

Been away for a while, good to be back with you all. I've been waiting for my chance to post in the wilderness. Someone asked for a photo with a big ball of yarn or Paul Bunyan. How about some dinosaurs?

3800 miles, and all I did was add gas! I did get one bad tankful from a Flying J in Beach, SD, but the sputtering quit with the next tankful. And my average of 18 mpg wasn't as good as I had hoped, but the price per gallon averaged about $2.75 or so.

Here are just a few of the more than 280 photos I took on our last trip.
Most are National Geographic type pics, but here are a few with the Syncro.

Somewhere in Montana going south, just after hitting freezing rain. That's about three quarters of an inch of brown ice coating the sides!

Midnight at Chaco National Cultural Park on the closest full moon of the year. It was about 12 degrees out and the Propex worked great!

Leaving Chaco mesa in the background.

The Big Rez ahead. These roads have the worst washboard I have EVER encountered! This was one of the smooth sections where there was some rock outcroppings. We stopped to let the buzzing fade. I have driven all kinds of logging roads where the washboard was only on the hills, here it's almost nonstop!
