"Fast Eddie" landed a beautiful one on Ebay a number of years back. RHD 6 leg with original black Kombi upholstery if I remember correctly which I usually do.

Probably flipped in so it doesn't hit the snow.

Barndoor mirrors can fold in on their spring-loaded stalk
(In case you didn't know that)

there are 2 in the northern part of sweden, that is under restoration.
The interior picture that are linked to in page 3 :

is kind a near to hit the road. I know the owner got a rusty fold down middle seat, and much more of the OG taxi parts.
But, in case of this 2 barndoors, they are massive restoprojects, that needs much welding and much parts, so, it´s a long way to the goal of a driavble TAXI bus. Smile

In sweden back in 1954 they were quite common, about 100km from stockholm there were 10 vw taxi

The taxi is pimped out - Deluxe trim, rear corner guards, etc.

That low mounted passenger mirror arm is wacky looking to me

A second picture and a caption to go with the photo above:
Frantz Larsen receives his new purchase, the city's first registered taxi of this type, at dealer Arvid Larsen (Vestre Station Road, Odense, Denmark) in 1953.

in the upper Right side of the above pic there is a sign. the only word of it I know is Benzin=Gasoline. Anyone translate it?

Also, below the sign is what appears to be another sign with the VW logo on it.

he looks to be a very proud of his new taxi. i would be too!
