I know buses have one and it's larger than the regular pulley washer- same for a Thing? Anyone know the size? It's not listed in the parts manual _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

Did you try to fit the washer you took off of your THING to install the crank start nut?
I think I used the one I took of my motor to install the crank start nut.

It's larger than the stock pulley washer- I found one at a local hardware store. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

I think I used the same washer for the bolt I had on the motor before.
I have hand started the THING for family and friends, and to make people look, it is funny to see people's reaction when I do it. _________________ Chris Blankenship

I would fit it with a washer from the local hardware store same thickness as the stock washer.
That is how I set mine up. I have a VW breats plate that has the crank start door and measured my current stock plate and cut the hole, took the door off of the old plate and installed it on my stock 74 tin.
People tend to ask if your THING is broken or dead. _________________ Chris Blankenship
