I split a 40HP case today and found a windage try and cam with either 314 or 3/4 stamped on the end. .275 lift. (Steep ramps with round nose) Cam blank is a 113 with a 113 gear.
Did vintage VW cam grinders use the 3/4 designation or were stock 40HP stamped this way?

Yes the Weber Tool company made a "3/4" race cam and a full circle crank for 36 and 40 hp motors back in the 50s and 60s.............I think Isky also grouped his early VW cams that way then went to his own part numbers like 2b and 2j
