36hp rebuild

I`ve started to rebuild a 36hp engine just stock for now and was wondering about the cost. Looking for mosty rebuild parts and maybe some NOS. Is this something that could go from $400.00 to $4000.00? The one thing that I do need is a crankshaft for sure and everything else from there up.
