Paul what was the story with this one? is there any info on here about it?

Unfort. it was so rotted - frame rails/ chassis etc. that it was a total waste. Had it for sale as a whole, but ended up parting it out - sadly...the parts went to 30 or so other buses...so, it had a good life. _________________ Even YOU can prevent FIRES!

I have owned VW bugs and buses since about `87 but this was my first split window bus circa about `88- `89.
I bought it out of the NEATO Old Bus Review from a wanted ad.
A`67 13 window deluxe, 65k miles. All original engine, interior and paint (except on the lower nose). Had mint blue mats and the og seats under those covers. I paid $1,800 flew down to Shrevport LA and drove it home. This was one of the cleanest buses underneath I have yet to see. The blue paint on the under carriage was as nice as on the top of the bus.
Wound up trading it and a fist of cash for a very low mileage og `67 westy to a student at Kenyon College in Ohio a couple years later. I wonder where it is now?

Hope this ain't gonna get me in trouble. My first VW was / is, a 1966
java green sunroof bug I bought new in June 1966. I was in the Navy
(I'm a 30 year Navy career guy) that year, stationed at what was then
NAS Miramar north of San Diego. I've kept it all these years, rolled it across the States, coast to coast, four times, slept in it,camped in it, whatever. Years later, when our daughter went off to college in Seattle she rolled it as her daily driver. We purchased the car from Truman motors Volkswagen in ElCajon. Over the years I've kept every scrap of paper that came with the car. Maintence sheets, window sticker, etc. My wife and I still drive the car although we have to laugh from time to time. We're both in our seventys and not near as thin as we once were when we first got it.
Regarding my buses. My first 3 were project cars purchased in the early
1990's. I was working for the Navy in Japan as a civilian and didn't have time for them. So I sold them. Basicaly for pennies on the dollar.
In 1995 my kid hooked me up with the girl who owned my current bus,
a '63 15 window. It was in good shape and was her daily driver. A local Seattle bus, I was the third owner. It became mine in August that year,
and I've loved it ever since. We celebrated its M-code plate birthdate
last week 31 Jan '63 with a short cruise. Gonna do it again this friday
6 Feb. According to the birth certificate thats the date it rolled off the line.
Gotta love it.

My first bus: a late 67' standard. Drove it daily from 1992-1996. I had some good times in that ole' bitch.
