Anyone know how to do this without damaging either? I have to install 3mm spacers in the lifters for my stroker. |

Ask Oval56 he has done it - as you can see in the above picture. i hope it is permitted to use the pic in that case or wait until he is answering here... dunno how long it takes

i' ve done to shorten mine.
i put them in a vise grip with aluminium protection and also a towel.
i then used a small open end wrench inserted just near the end tips and a hammer.
be careful to hammer straight it is easy to bend them. not too much force is needed.
worked for me...
to reinstall wood, one old t1 lifters and the hammer... |

I tried that and bent two of them. I used heat. Heated them up, stuck them in water and twisted them off. Now they are really heat tempered!
