Ah OK then we have the same idea,

if you can keep me posted I would be interested.

I thought that the 2 pieces bow was the one on the rear side of the bus only.

Each of the the three side to side bows is in two halves with a key in the middle.
Each of the three side to side bows is different. Usually the rear one is good but the area around the leaky subhatch is rotted.

Yep this is what hapened on mine that is why I am redoing the bows around the subhatch.
The bow on the rear side is in perfect shape

You are right also to say the the 3 bow are differents.
By 1st thinking we could say that the bow in front is the same as the same as the one on the middle but when we compare them we can see that these are totally different.

Could someone confirm my result ?

Thanks.

finally I was able to reproduce perfectly the subhatch bow in the middle and in the front of my westy.

1st of all I have used 1/4 cheap plywood to reproduce the exact form of the bow to fit with the roof and the aluminium subhatch and inserted in between the 1/8 birchwood.
I have adjusted the form until I was able to isert and remove the 1/8 birchwood without any play and without too much presure too.

Here is a sample:

Next step will be to reproduce the left side of each bow and I will use the one I just made as master.

Hi,
I will post latter on today the values I found and I have used to make my bows.
Then if you can come up on your side with the one you measured then we could make the comparison.

Thanks, Jerome.

I finally finished the subhatch bow assembling today.
The process to redo those bows was very long but I am happy of the end result:

the trim also let the room to insert the wood headliner.
A 3mm gap in between the bow and the trim is necessary.

very nice work. that bow structure is a more complicated design than you would think. will you be reproducing these for resale, or just making them for your bus?

Yes my plan is to reproduce some and make them available for subhatch passionate.
I have the 3 masters to redo the rear middle and front bow.
About the complexity to redo them you are absolutelly right, we don`t see on the picture but each bow has its specific profile and the width bow is not a standard width that you can find to your home depot suplier.
I have been forced to buy 35mm x 250 mm bow and cut into the 35 mm section.

If anyone is interested to get those bow, just PM me because I have planned to work on the topic within the following weeks.
Also if anyone has SO23 parts for trade this could be also a solution for a deal.

I will give additional updates when the wood headliner will be in place.
