How do I check if my 40 horse fuel pump is working ? I have three different fuel pump and none of them are pulling the fuel from the tank. I just put my newly rebuilt motor in last night and no fuel. Is it possible that my fuel line may of gotten clogged ? Please advise. Thanks OG !

Mine did the same thing after an engine rebuild. I put a woven line on the fuel line just before the pump connection and sucked on it and the fuel came through. It was stuck for some reason. No problems since.
Prime the pump also by doing the same thing after the main line is connected to the pump. |

You may need to check the fuel pushrod make sure its the right size. also open up the 40hp fuel pump it might be clogged. on the bottom half mine fuel pump had debri and my carb would just die out. opened my fuel pump and found the problem. good luck _________________ Just Cruzin Sur Califas VW Car Club est♤1998 |

Thanks Homie. I figured that the filter in the gas tank was clogged with rust. Gracias. |

Like this
My Bus ran with this pump when I bought it but it would die on hills. It wasn't pumping enough fuel to keep up. No sock in the tank and a tank full of tiny rust flakes didn't help either. _________________ How to Post Photos
