Yakob is obviously trying to get a rise out of everyone.

the reality of this bus was that it had so many problems it really was not worth saving. yes, I agree that it could have been saved and even restored but it would have not been cost effective vs. what else you can buy from todays classifieds. This bus would have needed the entire drivers side replaced from the gutter down. If you look at the side picture you can see that the popouts do not close flat anymore. On top of that it had a large hole hacked in the roof, cut bulkhead with missing M-code plate, hacked wheel wells, hacked dash, hacked doglegs and partial re-spray with the hacks repaired you would have been left with 40% original paint. And it would have needed rust repair to both rockers, cargo doors, jack points, battery tray and front floor rust repair. savable? yes, worth it? not to me...maybe someone else? but it was for sale for over a month with no serious interest... but yes, should have been kept a secret Confused I will spare the identity of the other parties involded. you know who you are.

I see your views in bumper stickers/signage differ from the previous owners.....

that bus looks amazing! I cannot believe how much rust can creep down over paint!

Unfortunately its kinda hard to get anything to stick on the bumpers cause of the rust/texture. Somebody else had asked why I removed the Darwin sticker but actually it had fallen off. I have a few stickers I would love to but on the bus but my girlfriend said "Hell no!"

Decided this bus was worth more to save other buses. It was actually really solid, just to many hacks and no m code.

Working on the passenger-side rocker/bellypan/outriggers/jack points. There were mouse nests inside the rocker!

I'm stymied on the deluxe for a while until I sort out some fitment issues, so I've started working on the engine for the '56 single cab. I got all the bits back from RIMCO a month or so ago. Check out the remnants of the gold coating.

thom your work looks really sweet! Now for a wired question. The carpet insulation you see in black strips. Does anyone know where to find something remotely close to it (color and fit) ???

Could dove blue them then age them with a dark brown paint to match the body.... just a thought to make them look more natural. Sweet s/c though.

My 20x20 shop is getting pretty cramped so just getting from front to back is a chore these days. By the time you get storage racks and work table on each side, then park two buses inside, not much room between them. I need to start doing brake work on my 1960SC so purchased me some decent Harbor Freight wheel dollies so I could push one bus as close to my storage racks as I could so I can work on the SC. Most Harbor Freight stuff is crap but they do have some diamonds in the ruff once in awhile. They sell these hydraulic wheel dollies and had a sale for two of them for $169. I had a 20% off coupon so was able to get all 4 for under $300. Great deal!

Anyway, I put them all together this weekend and got them under the 1967 bus and they worked great. Now I can have just enough room to start working on the SC.

Good to see this rot is beeing repaired.
To many busses haven't got that kind of rust repaired because of
it's "originality".
