hello,
I am in the middle of building up a big bore 40hp. I have a question on cooling. Is the actual fan shroud for the throttle ring cooling system different from one with the flaps? I don't really see anything inside of the shroud that would direct the air onto cylinders (Like the flaps do on later models). Is this right, or should there be something inside the shroud that directs the air? If they are different, could somebody send me a pic of the inside of the shroud so I can see? Honestly, I never used a thermostat so I don't really know.

I'd post a picture of the inside of a staleair shroud but I don't have a spare anymore (it's on the car now) but I do know that there's no extra ducting at the bottom, just the normal splay of vanes around the periphery of the fan. There's also no holes to mount the flaps, of course, which is one difference.
