i have the pop outs but i have NO hardware for them
i have 2 slots and 2 holes for the hinging side and 3 holes that hold the latch in
WHAT are the sizes

are they bolts int a threaded plate or just screws

and what the best to use around the tabs

one has black rubberish stuff on it

There may be a similar article here on The Samba but here is one from our Australian site in answer to a similar question. The info here is for Notches as well. The Squares have the latches held by self tapper screws rather than metal thread screws. The slots in OZ built Notches and later model Squares must also have the hinges fitted into the B pillar. The 2 holes are jig holes for alignment of the hinges in the B pillar. The link should take you to the post on Aussieveedubbers.

The factory originally had a welded in nut plate that the latch machine screws went into.
Sheet metal screws into the C pillar will not hold in the long run. The sheet metal by itself is not strong enough.

I am in the same boat with my '72. I have the pop outs and new seals but can not seem to locate or get a straight answer about the front hinges from anyone. I think I am about to bust out some sothern enginuity and build some myself. Now if only I knew what they were supposed to look like.....
