my rims are chrome eight spokes they are 5.5X15 fronts and 10X15 rears with free crappy tires to roll it around the garage.but even with 10.50 tires my rears are too wide on my manx clone with a 1957 swing trans. i would recommend 8.5X15 for the rears on a manx style buggy to make the tires tuck under the fenders properly. as for tire choices theres a couple options but a couple guys have posted that they run mickey thompson indy profile rear tires and something i cant remember on the front. im actually looking at hoosiers hot rod rear tires (they have some pretty insane sizes like 18" wide tires) for my buggy because im going for 160+ hp on my next engine and i want to keep myself on the road.

It's totally preference. I like the big and little look so an running smart car tires up front with a bigger tire on the back. Some run fat tires all around some run the same sized tire all around. Speed wont be an issue so put on what you like best.

If you are using a VW speedo the front wheels need to be 25.25" tall.

I'm running all VDO gauges and have the electronic Speedo as well. Infinite adjustment for any tire size. You "teach" it. All you need to know is a measures KM or Mile. The Sender (hall effect) was simple to install. How long it will last??? We will see, only 2000km on mine so far.

15 x 8 in the front and 15 x 10 in the rear with the centerlines. If I use the chromes it is 15 x 8 in the front and 15 x 9 in the rear. Depends upon which set I wanna run that day.

I was planning on buying a set of 15x5.5 in front, and 15x8 out back. 145sr15 fr, and 225/60/15 out back. I like those street legal tires that get sticky when hot. Cuz i'm working on street/strip buggy myself. Cool

Can't go wrong with big and littles in my book. I just realized I didn't post my rim and tires sizes.......
245/60/R15s on the back mounted on an 8" wide rim.
145/65/R15s mounted on a 5" rim on the front. Smart Car tires.
