I came across a 65 Vandetts bug and since the front was an ugly 3pc wide eye I thoght since it is already cut I could make it more retro rod using a bug-eye kit, so here is a kinda Vandtta-slecta I did to give an idea..... what you think?

I like the wide eye kits better than the bug eye.
My opinion. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

I am open to options I just need to see what I can come up with for wheels, seen some nice aluminum baja wheels that have that 70's vibe to them, I think they would work too, I need to find something that has a wide and a skinny???? always on the look out |

combine that with a wood slat/chrome trim rear floor area and it would be sharp! _________________ 62 vert

Tire and wheel sizes:
Fronts: 15" wheel @ 7" wide; 215/60R15
Rear: 15" wheel @ 8" wide; 275/60/R15
Both: 4.25" backspace
The tires are from a company in SC called Diamond Back Tires:
http://www.dbtires.com/
They do all kinds of speciality tires (redlines, bluelines, goldlines, wide white walls, etc). The redline is added to the tire through a vulcanization process (becomes part of the tire by applying temperature, time, and pressure). Basically they scrub down the side wall of the tire until it's smooth and then apply the line. I can tell you by looking at my tires you can't tell they weren't produced from a mold. I went with them because places like Coker couldn't sell me the tire size I wanted. Took a little over two weeks to get the tires delivered to my door via UPS.

I always loved these! I even sent for their brochure and used to stare at it and imagine building one. I chickened out because I had never done any bodywork and this kit was all about bodywork! I was only about 19 at the time...
Wouldn't mind restoring one already built now but they all seem to be in the south or east of the country.
I'd restore it back to a swing'in '70s style not this slammed rat rod look.
Just my .02.

I want it to pay a tribute to the Vandetta but give it my own flare, being it is already cut I wanted to do it my way, the ansen slot style wheels keep it going the 70's way |

You could go another route and lift it and make a baja van! 31" in the rear 30" up front, bash bumpers at both ends and some nerf bars on the sides. Kinda like a mini Grave Digger.
