Now there's something you don't see every day.

Lookin' good! Maybe we should start a club for split and oval Baja Bugs.

Very nice build so far. I like the rear fenders, where would I be able to find some like them.

Thanks Ed

Sweet project Cool I love oval/ split bajas.
I hope you find your Ultras. McKenzies used to have a used parts table, check with them. Also you could place a want add on Race Dezert
Again, I dig your car.

Too bad. It was kind of a neat deal they had. Sad I bought and sold stuff from that table.

John,

Good to see an update. I liked how those rear caliper mounts turned out. Looks very professional. Laughing

Suby, huh? I didn't think you were going that direction, but I totally agree with it. Radiator? front or rear mount?

i will find the info for the fenders and let you guys know.

the rear caliper mounts came out great. that was a much better idea than the way craig wanted to do them.

actually i was looking at rotary motors but every one i looked at was so so. even the one out of a rx8 with only 5500 miles on it.

i know a few people that have done alot of suby conversions and said why not. planning on putting the radiator in the back but we will see how it works out since the back of a bug is pretty turbulant and not good air flow. i dont want the fan running constantly

I know John (another John) at Outback (Outfront). He is a great guy, and will answer questions for you. You might want to give him a call, and talk with him about adapters, computers, harnesses, etc. I would consider him a pioneer in the Suby/VW conversion.

I hope to make it back out in a couple of weeks to lend a hand again.
