|
|
Does anyone have a decent source for two bar knock-off spinners? I found a couple of places with good prices on the three bar style, but the two bar version seems harder to find. A set with plain domed tops would be cool, smooth on top WITHOUT the circular indent for a crest or plastic stick-on disc/logo that most seem to have.
A set with the on/off directional lettering would be PERFECT. These came on the MGAs and Triumphs and such, but I haven't found a reasonable (looking and priced) used set, and the only new sets were upwards of $200.
I kinda trying to put together a set of Fudge (Rudge-looking) wheels for my 356, using wheel skins and knock-offs if I can score a set.
Any links? Any help?
Thanks ! ! !
TC
This is as far as I gotten with the idea. I'm using a three bar spinner in the pic, but it's obvious that a two bar is gonna be necessary to carry the look.

Afraid of that . . .
The ones that I just found on Ebay were junk! All hammered up on the ears.
Wish that the after market two bar style were as good looking as the three bar.
Thanks,

I don't mind the 3 bar knockoffs on my Zenith wire wheels, but I can see your point about the 2 bar. I know where there's a set of Triumph knockoff wire wheels w/2 bar knockoffs! _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

I can help with a set for your Porsche 356 TC...check out my ads.
You can also get them from EMPI or one of their dealers across the U.S.A
Your set you are making looks cool based on CB's drum skins, How does the the rear knock off go on with the big castle nut hole?
The common and repro MG/Triumph/Aston/Jag etc. directional two bar knockoffs will have to have the centers machined out as they are made for a true knock off application...some are course threaded and some fine...All are expensive.
The original directional logo two bar knock off are really tough to find so I was going to have some either cast (Expensive) or I will take a cheap-o from my local wheel tire shop and have them engraved (Cheaper), what ever is cheaper as I like to save a few bucks too when I can...Hope this info helps you out |

"How does the the rear knock off go on with the big castle nut hole?"
I bought two little aluminum measuring cups that cover the castle nuts perfectly
and have enough of a "skirt" on them to fit down over the wheel skin nicely.
Either a few tack welds or some aluminum epoxy and they out to be fine.
Then just attach the spinners same as the fronts, just sort of a bolt through and maybe, again, some epoxy for safety sake.
Hopefully it'll all work out. I think that the over-all "look" is pretty much there
just need to fuss the details and . . . done.
Oh, would you please post a link to your ads for me?
Thanks!
