Thanks for the input on the subaru engine, that is an good idea as well.

The 84 is a very dependable rig. Go and get it. Will she have problems? yes. Years of PO's monkeying about, you bet. But it is what it is, you here asking at the Samba means you want to do good to the VW. That speaks volumes.

There are things not even realized yet that need attention to, but if you are willing to go the distance, then enjoy the journey.

Use the search and get some manuals. Bentley for one and read. Volkswagen made a mistake to discontinue these vehicles in 1991. They are around the world and still going in many lands. Go and get something that someone is still driving in Australia, South Africa, Iran, France..... Your showing your global you.
