Pick up an 80's copy of VW Trends or Hot VWs. Look at the colors of some of the "sano" restoration. Would you want to be caught within one nautical mile of one of those cars today? _________________ -Thom

personally, I can't think of a single pre-67 stock bus color that I dislike - therefore what I want is stock colors. |

No way. I wouldn't wear a pair of green jams with pink & yellow fish all over them either. _________________ '65 Deluxe bus long term project |

I'm in the same boat you are. My bus's original color combo is the lamest of all - sea blue & blue white.
I'll probably stay with some combo of original colors, though. |
I love that combo... |

I think a properly shined up Pearl White single color bus looks beautiful but it is a little dull for a deluxe. If you must have a two tone bus then I would stick with a color combination correct for the year. Not a big fan of the titian red but it is your bus so like the others say, do what you want. |

Blue is my favorite color, but I've never liked that particular shade of blue. The sea blue on the Beetles is good, but the bus blue leaves me underwhelmed. _________________ '65 Deluxe bus long term project |

As correct as pg/sg would be, (although I think (HOPE) Lair was joking about that). |

pg/sg and cb/swr look terrible on anything but their respective model and year buses. |
I kinda agree but after watching Bullrun.............cb/swr on a later bus grew on me.
To the OP, if you could snap your fingers and have YOUR perfect bus in front of you with no effort and time involved. Thats the colour you should paint it.
To the average Joe, he/she isn't going to car what colour it is. Some will like it, some won't but guess what..............it doesn't matter cuz it's your bus. If they don't like it, they can buy there own 21 window and do what they want.

Hi Mike,
Let's see some pictures of this 66.
Doesn't matter what color you paint it. You'll just slam it and flip it like all the other VW's you've had in the last 3 years..... |

Well after that post, if you're going to flip it, paint it original |

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I'm just jealous that you scored a 21 window.... |

I've seen that bus, up close and personal a few times, and believe me, it not even close to being cb/swr. It's deep black over super-bright red. |
