with recent discussion of cleaning, decided to have a go at some items I had stashed away.

found that my soft scrub is infact "with bleach!" I did not know it was available with and without...I chose not to try the bleach although I think I am going to try it on some hidden spots of the discolored "white" material.

after light cleaning, I still need to pull the trim and straighten it, as well as press the panels to flatten them out a bit more. I have no idea what the brown discoloration is in the last picture, it is not paint or an abrasion...it looks like it was cooked.

Wow another great interior job. Looks like a new product for consideration in OG cleaning.

Last night I was blasting some wheels, and I came across this one with a nice chunk of road rash. The wheel was in great shape otherwise, so I decided to try and fix it. I think it came out "Ok" for my first attempt. I have another one with more subtle damage on the back side, which will be a bigger challenge.

Nice!
I have quite a few wheels that I could probably save doing that.
I guess I'll have to give it a try. I was thinking about cutting an axle
off and using the spade end to massage them back into shape...

After blasting the repaired area again, you can barely tell it was fixed

Nice work on those rims!

I'm almost done painting the cargo-area of my panel.
Just gotta give the floor one more coat.
I had some paint made that's very close to the original primer.

could you fill me on how you fix it. I have some wheels that are pitted like crazy and I would like to fix them before I paint them and have them mounted on the SC.

Was that a pun?

First I media blasted everything to remove the rust, then I welded up the pitted area, using high amperage and low wire speed so I wouldn't build up too much material. Then I used a #36 disc on my sanding die grinder, followed by a rough scotch-brite pad on the die grinder. In essence, I'm filling up the pits with weld bead.

Set end play on 2 liter motor build .004"
Will get motor ready to go in Sunday. Will break in the cam for 28 minutes as per SCAT. Clean oil filter, readjust valves, add a quart (10W non-detergent motor oil) and run it for 500 miles. Then, drain oil, clean filter, pull motor, re-torque heads, check exhaust nuts, adjust valves, add 30 Wt non-detergent motor oil for the next 1500 miles.

Installed a westy hitch on the '56 single cab. This hitch was made for a big bumper, so it sticks out a bit on the '56.

Looks like it wants to hurt somebody. Day glow orange or bright yellow with black stripes might be a better color.

Thom, i think i nailed myself in the shin with that hitch from all the way here in NJ. Seriously, be careful with that. all it takes is one time with your hands/arms full and no sight of it and "@#!*!!!" will follow!

Crukab, you need to sell me that rack!!!

I took my bus on its first beer run while under my watch and my Wife forced me to go on its first Crumb's Bakery run to get some giant Cupcakes!! I saw a nice guy with his Kids in a 79 vert who i talked to briefly at a light and told me he is a member of the CJVWS.
